The TYHI Oil Film Bearing Research Institute was founded in 1958, which is the only professional institutionresearching and developing in oil film bearing theory, material, structure, manufacturing process and lubrication system in China. Meanwhile, the material research and product development of high-end sliding bearings (in the field of power and ship, etc.), friction interference structural parts (such as extruder extrusion container, wind power locking disk assembly) in other fields are also carried out.
The institute has maintained the leading position around the world in the research of basic theory, bearing material, dynamic-static lubrication technology, sealing technology, Babbitt metal bonding technology, intelligent monitoring technology, test and technical standards of oil film bearing. The independently developed product used in Nangang 4700 plate mill is the largest size and highest bearing capacity oil film bearing in the world now.
As a star product of TYHI, oil film bearing developed by theinstitutehas won a lot of awards such as “Ministry of Machinery Science and Technology Progress Award”, “National Gold Award”, “China Famous Brand Product”, “Shanxi Famous Brand Product”, “Shanxi Science and Technology Progress Award”, “Taiyuan Science and Technology Progress Award” and so on.
Moreover, the institute has owned 28 national patents, and has formulated one national and one industrial standard for oil film bearings, which has made outstanding contributions to the development of oil film bearings of rolling mills in China.
All the employees in the institute have bachelor degree or above (30% of them have master degree), of which senior titles accounted for 29.4%, and intermediate titles accounted for 64.8%.
The institute includes two departments: design department and process department.
Meanwhile, the oil film bearing key laboratory of the Ministry of Machinery Industry, and the oil film bearings branch secretariat of Heavy Machinery Association are built in the institute, which also provide research and technical consultation services for oil film bearings.
The institute has long-term cooperation with domestic and foreign mill designers such as SMS, VAI, Danieli, Mitsubishi, CFHI, CNEG and MCC in product research and development, and has good relationship with Shanghai Jiaotong University, Shanghai University, Taiyuan University of Science and Technology, Xi'an Jiaotong University in producing, studying and researching.
TYHI oil film bearings share exceeds 80% in domestic market, and have been exported to more than 10 countries and regions, such as Japan, India, Germany, Brazil, South Africa, Russia, Ukraine, Vietnam, Mexico, Kazakhstan, Taiwan, etc. The institute has customized various type of products for more than 1100 hot strip mills, 130 cold rolling mills and 320 plate mills.
