Offshore Equipment Engineering Department is a professional institute under Taiyuan Heavy Machinery Group which was founded in 2012.By means of independent innovation, introduction, digestion, absorption and re-innovation,the Offshore Equipment Engineering Departmenthas developed offshore self-elevating drilling unit, lift-boat, multifunctional wind turbine installation vessel, large/medium-sized hydraulic pile driving hammer, offshore pile top drilling rig, offshore cranesand automatic pipe rackers. Since its establishment, it has got authorization for 19 patents, including 13 patents for invention. it also participated in one standard-setting.
Offshore Equipment Engineering Departmen has a offshore engineering R&D team composed of nearly 50 employees, including one offshore engineering expert employed from Houston USA and dozens of experienced offshore engineering designers employed from renowned offshore engineering enterprises at home and abroad. All designers have bachelor degree or above, among which master degree or above accounts for 40%, senior engineer accounts for 35%. The team has set up good cooperation mechanisms with universities and scientific research institutions such as Tianjin University, Shanghai Maritime University, CIMC RAFFLES Research Institute and Liaoning Petroleum Equipment Research Institute
