The predecessor of Measurement and Control Technique Research Department is Strength Research Department, which was created in 1955. The main field covers strength calculation and test analysis of mechanical structure, test and assessment of mechanical product etc. Approved by Machine & Industry Bureau of Shanxi and Quality and Technical Supervision Bureau of Shanxi, the Quality Supervision and Inspecting Station for Excavating, Metallurgical, Hoisting Equipment of Shanxi Province was founded in 1990. More than 20 research projects either as National 863 projects or as National Key and New Products Development Plans or as Shanxi Vital Technology Special Projects were accomplished since its foundation as hosts or participants. The main achievements contains 9 second and above prizes of Scientific and Technological Advancement at Ministerial and Provincial-level (include 1 first prize: Screw Rolling Curve and Complex Curve Roller Used in Two Rollers Puncher), 3 national standards, 5 industrial standards and 15 patents for invention.
There are 11 full-time technicians in Measurement and Control Technique Research Department including 6 senior engineers. Apart from this, there are also 6 visiting researchers from partner colleges. Three laboratories including vibration analysis and fault diagnosis lab, strength analysis and stress inspection lab, and transducer design and life-span evaluation lab are founded. Furthermore, hundreds of advanced instruments and facilities are arranged.
The Co-research Department for Inspection and Diagnosis of Heavy Equipment was jointly established with State Key Laboratory for Manufacturing Systems Engineering in Xi’an Jiaotong University in 2009, aimed at technique research in terms of dynamic analysis, status monitoring, fault diagnosis, process control and construction of enterprise key laboratory. It was awarded to be the Strategic Cooperative Unit of Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center of PLA General Armaments in 2015, aimed at the co-research on test & assessment and optimization analysis of military equipments.
Over the years, the information department has undertaken a number of information projects at the national, provincial and municipal levels, improved the company's informatization level, and made outstanding contributions to the reconstruction of TZ as a national demonstration enterprise of manufacturing informatization project.
