R&D Overview

The crane transportation equipment design and engineering institution, established in the 1950s, is the first professional lifting equipment R&D department in china. With a comprehensive ability of crane design, performance test and safety assessment, the department has created 97 firsts both home and abroad. Especially, the products for metallurgy, hydroelectric, nuclear power and cooking industry represent the present world advanced level. The institution has presided in over 50 national or industry standards and received 30 provincial awards and 5 national awards with over 200 patents.

Since the 13thfive-year plane,The crane transportation equipment design and engineering instituteactively develops intelligent crane technology such as intelligent hoist,precise localization,material identification,data mining and analysis as well as remote control. It has developed the world first intelligent metallurgical crane and unmanned storage system with successful practical application.

Team and Platform

Relying on the institution, mechanical industry overhead and gantry crane equipment engineering research center and the Shanxi key technology innovation team for large-scale specialized crane have been established. In this institution, 5 researchers enjoy the special allowance of the state council and 3 researchers were named Shanxi Scientific and Technology Leader. Over 40% researchers are senior engineers. The institution consists six professional laboratories, relating to construction, gear drive, mechanical analysis and process design. It has established long-term cooperation relationship with several universities such as Tsinghua university and Dalian University of Technology in the field of theoretical analysis, intelligent research and software engineering.
