The Coking Machinery Design Institute is one of the largest professional research and development institutions in China for coke oven complete sets of equipment. It is engaged in the research and development of complete sets of equipment matched with three processes of horizontal heat recovery tamping coking, top coal coking and tamping side coal coking. Its products occupy more than 60% of the domestic market, and have been exported to India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Iran and other countries and regions. Among them, the intelligent unmanned operation technology of large-scale coke oven equipment and the comprehensive treatment technology of coke oven equipment smoke and dust have reached the advanced level at home and abroad. Over the years, coke oven products have won one provincial and ministerial science and technology progress award, two provincial and ministerial science and technology achievements award, 29 authorized invention patents, 46 utility model patents, and 1 industry standard. From the end of 1990s till now, through 20 years'efforts, the technical level of the developed complete sets of equipment has reached the advanced level in the world. It has become the main force to promote the technological development of coking equipment in China, and has made great contributions to the development of coking industry.
At present, all the employees have undergraduate degree or above, of which 33% have master degree or above; 24% have senior title or above, of which 3 are excellent senior engineers; 2 are senior experts contacted by the Provincial SASAC, which is a specialized institute integrating mechanics, electricity and hydraulics. We have been cooperating with Taiyuan University of Technology, Taiyuan University of Science and Technology and Zhejiang University of Technology for a long time. In 2014, Shanxi Province successfully declared the key coal-based science and technology research project - "Large-scale modern coke oven and equipment manufacturing technology research and development and engineering demonstration", with a super-large modern coke oven equipment research and development technology innovation team.
